Obama Is Now the President

as far as foreign policy gos i have very small expectations for the man. keeping on robert gates and david petraeus to work the war in afghanistan shows he plans on fighting it in the same fashion bush was working with. which isnt necessarily too bad because now the have what may be a winning strategy. im not talking about the surge as much as i am talking about opening channels of communication and cutting deals with leaders of armed groups, warlords, etc.

i do think its worth noting the plan for and the eventual withdrawl of troops was something that started under bushes watch before we start giving barry the credit for something bound to happen. as far as the iran issue gos, i expect more talks , and eventuall some type of agreement on tehrans nuclear program. if this doesnt happen before 2009 is up, i can see the eventual israeli attack which obama will condemn and do nothing about. thats some hardcore speculation i may come to regret now, but its my blog so that makes it ok to be an ass.

i do expect america to adhere and be a lot more involved with the un than they have been since ignoring them and going to war in iraq. a joint venture with the eu seems like a must to as obama has called for more cooperation with europe. as far as russia gos i think obama is going to give the kremlin damn near everything the ask for, and luckily its not much. its reasonable in fact, the relocation or scrapping of our ABM shield(anti ballistic missile) plan in the czech republic and poland would save us billions. the shit might not even work anywas, according to MITs ted postol. obama will continue to turn a blind eye to china supporting military dictatorships in africa for natural resources. its really hard to gauge chinas reaction to the obama presidency, something else for time to tell.

the million dollar question for me is what will his policies be in south america. i simply havent seen much on it, i havent exactly looked either though. mexico is a huuge narcostate with a sky high murder rate. it would be interesting to see what type of support theyre going to get under an obama administration.  brazil is another subject of interest as its on its way to becoming a regional hegemon as soon as big oil is back on track. as far as venezuela gos, it has its own problems. i dont think theres a point in mentioning it until the people vote in february on chavez proposal to let the president have an infinite number of terms. as soon as this gos down ill be sure to dig into that.

o yea, obama...please kill robert mugabe through some covert cia action shit. please
