Moar 1/30/09

  1. iraqi provincial electios tommorrow, and so far there hasnt been a noteworthy amount of violence. i guess everyone has accepted iraq being a democracy? will the people be voting against corruption? better schools? time will tell
  2. EU and china summit back on. there was originally one for december but china cancelled it after the dalai lama was sposed to visit france. people need to face it. tibet will never be free and with china looking like the savior of the world economy right now the dalai lama will definitely die before he makes a noteable appearance in any major country
  3. afghanistans presidential election has been put on hold for august. the interesting thing aout this is many groups wont recognize hamid karzais authority past may 20 which is when theyre supposed to have a new president. my guess is the us will install a new go to guy as karzai has put too much blame on america for civilian casualties and warming up to russia definitely wasnt part of the plan
  4. turkeys recep tayyip erdogan in a bold move suggested obama should redefine what they consider to be terrorist organizations. turkey is obviously speaking of hamas and hezbollah. 2 democratically elected governments. turkey is a pretty stable and somewhat secular democracy with a NATO membership. theyre definitely worth listening to
  5. IAEAs elbaradei believes the us and other countries should freeze sanctions on iran in return for a freeze on its nuclear program. sounds like a fair deal to me, low oil and these sanctions are eating iran alive

Moar 1/28/09

still feelin kinda sluggish from the weekend and add a cold on to that and you get slow ass updates. lucky me its the same shit basicly

  1. the world economic forum at davos starts today. im looking forward to this being just like the g20 meeting where everyone says what the problem is, which is obviously someone else, and no one calls for cooperation on a way to solve it. the only difference with this its not just representatives from other countries but 'intelligent minds' and people from the banking sector
  2. indonesia has created a stimulus package worth about 6 billion. everyone has their own stimulus and i kind of told myself i wasnt going to share news like this cause its a different country every day. im mentioning indonesias because they have a lot of potential as a country when some natural disaster isnt shitting on them. they also have the highest muslim population in the world, so yea
  3. japan has joined countries like china and india in the fight against somali pirates in the sea of aden. the signifigance of this is well...its japans army and in the last couple of years they have made numerous strides to increase spending on it. china and north korea are good reasons to do so. its also something like a right of passage for a navy coming into its own to face off against pirates. one example being the young us going up against a couple rougue states in the barbary wars
  4. russia has decided to pause or rather not deploy missiles to kaliningrad which was in response to the us missile shield. my guess is obama has gotten the word to putin the the missile shield wont be happening. ill have more on this on an update tommorrow
at this point adding anything else would be the same ol shit with little development so ill just skip a day on them

Moar 1/27/09

ok, sorry for the extra day in the break. its time to get back to the daily grind. suprisingly nothing of note happened and we're still dealing with the same stories

  1. US ambassador of the middle east george mitchell is on his way to israel to try and work a deal with israel and hamas. this is it, our first taste of middle east diplomacy from obama. the only problem is its subcontracted to george mitchel who may be a very capeable negotiator but he has to report back to hillary clinton, not obama. i dont see much progress being made under clinton in this subject. shes very pro israeli, and more than likely not to waiver any concessions for hamas. it would take some level of intervention from obama to really get things going
  2. Sri Lankas safe zones obviously arent enough as the red cross reports a quarter of a million people trapped between the fighting between the sri lankan army and the tamil tigers
  3. SADC (southern african development community) a new government in zimbabwe will take place in february. ill believe it if it still stands in april
  4. Chinas prime minister wen jiabao will be going on a eurotrip to let europe know theyll be in chinas pocket soon enough
  5. Colombia and Venezuela has set up a 200m fund to increase bilateral trade. i guess things are pretty bad for cololmbia if they have to deal with a country they may be funding/aiding its biggest pain in the ass, FARC(revolutionary armed forces of colombia)
  6. Bolivia voted to change the constitution. Now evo morales can run again. i didnt think theyd pass it now im kind of wondering if hugos can get through in feb
  7. Iceland's government has officially fallen apart from the financial crisis. Looking forward(not happy about it, just saying its gonna happen) to seeing the same thing happen a couple former soviet states that the euro raped
i guess thats it for now. if youd like to see me get more detailed about a specific subject feel free to drop a line and ill oblige

Moar 9/21/09 (updated)

  1. Israel has completely withdrawn from gaza
  2. Guantanamo may close within a year, but for the moment all trials are on pause until obama and his administration takes a good look at whats going on
  3. Thailand refuses to let the UN check out the burmese refugees being held after the UN accused them of sending 1,000s back out at sea without adequate supplies. i hope thailand is building a secret pyramid with them or something.(provided that they are bein treated humanely)
  4. Tibetans plan to protest the chinese new year to honor those who died during a 2008 protest. i dont see china really giving a shit, they still have a couple billion people ready to celebrate. tibet will never be free without a war of some sort. sorry, but its the truth
  5. Hamid Karzai, afghanistans president says there needs to be a new military policy implemented for his country. he also called for all donations to be handled by afghanistan and not the donor themselves because its really hard to put in his and everyone elses pocket when it gos directly to the people
  6. France isnt sending anymore troops to afghanistan ;[ i hate how the french try to do things that make sense, ugh
  7. Sri Lankan army creates "safe zone" for the people displaced during the fighting with the tamil tigers
  8. Student protesters in venezuela protest chavez proposal to be able to run for re-election as often as he wants. when you think of student protest it doesnt seem noteworthy but they seem to have a pretty powerful effect in south american countries in the last year or so

Moar IV

i kept waiting and waiting to do this waiting for something new to pop up, but its been a slow news day, so meh lets just go with what we got

  1. Europe is getting it's gas from russia again
  2. Ban ki Moon (the un secretary general) is done checking out the damage in gaza. he said some shit about it too...like how the conditions sucked there. politicians have come and said this shit about it BEFORE israel started blowin shit up so why should anyone care now
  3. A human rights lawyer who represented a little girl who was killed by a russian soldier was gunned down in cold blood. i dont thinka  single chechnyan male has died in any other way in the last 3 years. it resulted in a protest of over a thousand people. chechnya is absolutely insane there was no way any highly esteemed human rights activist was gonna live there for long
  4. New bird flu warnings in china. i saw this  yesterday and ignored it but i guess ill mention it now. im looking forward to see how china handles it this time, my guess no more than 15 die before everything is ok again. chinese new year is coming up and theyll do anthing not to fuck this up
  5. i could get to five but its stupid shit, so yea theres always tommorrow

Obama Is Now the President

as far as foreign policy gos i have very small expectations for the man. keeping on robert gates and david petraeus to work the war in afghanistan shows he plans on fighting it in the same fashion bush was working with. which isnt necessarily too bad because now the have what may be a winning strategy. im not talking about the surge as much as i am talking about opening channels of communication and cutting deals with leaders of armed groups, warlords, etc.

i do think its worth noting the plan for and the eventual withdrawl of troops was something that started under bushes watch before we start giving barry the credit for something bound to happen. as far as the iran issue gos, i expect more talks , and eventuall some type of agreement on tehrans nuclear program. if this doesnt happen before 2009 is up, i can see the eventual israeli attack which obama will condemn and do nothing about. thats some hardcore speculation i may come to regret now, but its my blog so that makes it ok to be an ass.

i do expect america to adhere and be a lot more involved with the un than they have been since ignoring them and going to war in iraq. a joint venture with the eu seems like a must to as obama has called for more cooperation with europe. as far as russia gos i think obama is going to give the kremlin damn near everything the ask for, and luckily its not much. its reasonable in fact, the relocation or scrapping of our ABM shield(anti ballistic missile) plan in the czech republic and poland would save us billions. the shit might not even work anywas, according to MITs ted postol. obama will continue to turn a blind eye to china supporting military dictatorships in africa for natural resources. its really hard to gauge chinas reaction to the obama presidency, something else for time to tell.

the million dollar question for me is what will his policies be in south america. i simply havent seen much on it, i havent exactly looked either though. mexico is a huuge narcostate with a sky high murder rate. it would be interesting to see what type of support theyre going to get under an obama administration.  brazil is another subject of interest as its on its way to becoming a regional hegemon as soon as big oil is back on track. as far as venezuela gos, it has its own problems. i dont think theres a point in mentioning it until the people vote in february on chavez proposal to let the president have an infinite number of terms. as soon as this gos down ill be sure to dig into that.

o yea, obama...please kill robert mugabe through some covert cia action shit. please

Moar III

  1. Israel wants out of gaza by tuesday. we all know what happens tuesday, makes you kind of wonder if they only declared a ceasefire just because a certain changing of the guard. if this is the case did israel really accomplish what they said they did, or did they just want to tear shit up until obama comes?
  2. Zimbabwe talks ended with no deal. not even linking that, OF COURSE IT DIDNT. fucking kill mugabe, someone, please.
  3. Taliban attacked 5 schools yesterday in the most fucked up education based campaign since no child left behind
  4. A couple of Arab states met up in kuwait again to discuss israel and gaza. the majority of states had harsh words for israel but saudia arabias words were stern, but definitely not as ridiculious as syrias bashar al assad calling israel a "terrorist state". saudi arabia king abdul offered peace to israel by asking them to accept the terms of the 2002 arab peace initiative or the offer may eventuall end up off the table. israel can ignore places like syria and egypt and even saudi arabia for now with the price of oil, so low but i honestly dont think  israel wants any part of saudi aggression. a lot of money backing that that shit
  5. Tamil tigers oil storage facility found b sri lankan army. its getting shittier each day for those tigers. if thats all the oil the tigers had left then it should all end very soon. its tough to fight a war without resources,  impossible. i really dont want to say goodbye to one of my favorite names for a terrorist organization ever ;[

Turkey Tries Take Two at EU

Turkey's prime minister recep tayyip erdogan recently named egemen bagis as the chief negotiator in talks with the EU. this means turkey is once again making a push to enter the European Union. It's basicly regional IGO(international governmental organization) that promotes a free exchange of money people and other shit. its an economical force and also a political one as it represents a hefty amount of the world's GDP(gross domestic product) entry would allow turkey to obviously promote the exchange of people(when you are an eu member you are free to move about any of the eu states. youre kind of a citizen of these places too) money and goods with europe.

this doesnt sound like too bad an idea since turkey has or had a spot in the top 25 for GDPs. its in a very important place geopolitically since its a gateway into the middle east, asia, and the black sea and mediterranian. its a very important place for the movement of goods, more importantly, energy. turkey also makes an honest effort not too become the next islamic republic with political parties constantly being disbanded. add that to a growing history at playing mediator in middle east conflicts and it seems like a great idea especially when you consider places like latvia to be members. theyve already hit rock bottom with the expansion of 12 eastern european countries and some of which are dying during the credit crisis for deali
ng with the euro

so whats the problem? well some countries say they dont want to accept any members until their bullshit lisbon treaty is finally accepted. its amazing to see THE PEOPLE vote it down TIME AND TIME AGAIN yet the EU keep putting it back up like "no no no you must have made a mistake" get the fucking hint.  another problem is cyprus is in the EU and they absolutely hate turkey due to a border dispute. they would rather eat shit and die than see turkey in there.

theres also no way countries like france or the uk or italy want a huge influx is muslims entering their country when they already have dying populations. and by dying population i mean more people are dying than are being born. this is the main driving force behind this, but no one wants to admit it. if you think EU memberstates are incapeable of xenophobia just look at italy and the gypsies. i can understand where these countries are coming from but its still kinda fucked up

good luck to turkey, and stfu cyprus

"zeez peepoo zey are...not welcoom in france"-shouldnt have put that in quotations but fuck it. youre still my boy, kozy

this is kind of world news

when you read world news you end up looking at different ads. russian wives, asian wives, just a click away. all of this shit, and you look at news clips from al jazeera, bbc, abc and i noticed something. i have yet to see anyone ask me to go see paul blart mall cop. ive seen people say that they were presented/sponsored by it but no "go check it out" ive seen lots of people say to check it out or some shit immediately after the plug but nope. paul blart mall cop aint got shit. pal blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop.paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop. paul blart mall cop.

paul blart mall cop is just a temporary addiction. damn...kevin james, i dont even know if you fell off in any type of way to be in a movie like this. i honestly dont know if the man was ever funny. i watched a couple episodes of king of queens but it was just to lust over his wife in the show. i got some intense boolovin for her. im done with this though, the subject is over and done and its back to the news

Burnin the Midnight Oil...Not Even

i wanted to write something on the gas crisis and how ukraine is the ultimate fuck up in this despite them taking the victim role. i was reading something on the asia times website and this pretty much sums it up so i dont have to do say much

To quote the editor-in-chief of Russia in Global Politics, Fedor Lukyanov, "Ukraine chose a tactic of deliberately creating a crisis through its rejection of talks and agreement, with the expectation that ultimately any major disruption of gas deliveries to Europe would hurt Gazprom's reputation as a reliable energy partner, supplier and generally speaking, as a company selling gas to Europeans. Everything that has happened after December 31 seems to me a delaying tactic ... We [Russians] are losing not a mere propaganda war but a real gas war ... It is not accidental that countries that have excellent relations with Russia such as Greece, Hungary and Bulgaria, which are among our main European partners, are experiencing the worst difficulties."

Actually, it is the very first time that European countries are experiencing a real shortage of gas ever since Russia's supplies began three decades ago. Lukyanov underlined, "Now, each single day of the crisis will distort the European perceptions, which would blame the Russians for everything."

so yea if you dont want to read just know ukraines gas was cut off because it stalled on renogatiating with russia. durin this time is stole some gas meant for europe to build up a reserve because they knew it would all come to a point where russia would cut off gas until ukraine really sat down and made a deal. while the gas was cut ukraine has been working hard to make russia look like some type of unreasonable bully, and refused to let gas get to europe while the bullshit gos on. ukraine and georgia, prospective NATO members, both big fuckin dumbies. i hope neither one of them get in until they can actually get their shit together. never works too.

8 minutes long may be quite the stretch to accomplish what im tryin to do here, but its worth the watch if youre interested by this so fuck it

Moar II

  1. North Korea says it has enough weaponized plutonium to make up to five bombs. the comments were aimed at south korea because they are really stupid up north and love to say shit like this whenever they dont like something. put up or stfu already. for future reference about 30kg of plutonium is 4-5 bombs worth
  2. Russia's putin cut a deal with ukraines yulia tymoshynko (who is hot as fuck) that will have russian owned gas monopoly gazprom resuming operations in the ukraine. its still at a discount too, the interesting thing is now yulia will have this as a victory for ukraine under her belt. thats some real ammo when dealing with victor yushchenko in what will be if not already a fight for power in ukraine. now all it takes is victor to not be a bitter bitch and not veto
  3. 100s of burman and bangladeshian refugees missing at sea after being booted out thailand. no fucking duh this shit was gonna happen, were talking about no engine bullshit do it yourself boats here.  with any luck theyll end up in indonesia, and thats with luck
  4. Malaysia finally chooses islam. the pan-malaysian islamic party(PAS) is will be taking over the majority of the parliament.  it was obvious since the last election that this is where malaysia will be heading. the prime minister(nabib razak) stepping up in march represents the opposition party(United Malays National Organization) that got its ass whoop so it should be interesting to see if he can get anything done. hopefully the ethnicities of malay that arent muslim wont get marginalized but thats kindaaaa unlikely
  5. Tamil Tigers say they kill 51 soldiers, sri lanka military is like 'nuh uh' its 7

A Ceasefire in Gaza

Israels prime minister ehud olmert says theyre finally done killing the shit out of people. the goal was to shut down the dozens of tunnels into egypt that gazans use to move everything from medicine to weapons. the other one was to shut down their capability to fire rockets which im sure they failed at but still saying they did it. theres still some troops in gaza and israel says theyll move them when they fucking feel like it.

hamas has already said they wont except one troop in gaza. this ceasefire will be over before the weekend is up most likely. not that israel will strike the first blow to end it though it will definitely be hamas' retarded ass will be sure to shoot some type of rocket and end it. what israel is doing is fucked up but i cant express enough how fucking retarded hamas is

More Money = Better Than?

can you guess which class that is on the raft and whos sitting on the wing looking like some stranded little bitches? it isnt quite the case because its more of an emergency landing thing than a raft and there would be one for everyone else if the other door wasnt completely submerged. its still an interesting picture and great to make your case if you want to hate the establishment so go ahead and right click, save as

one of my favorite writers ever, mark aimes, showcased it on this on my favorite blog ever, exiledonline. really worth checking out. he was wrong but hes still a great writer, mayhaps read something else from him there...where hes right

Moar

  1. A us airway jet landed in the hudson river. i seen that shit like a million times in movies i think and i knooow before 24 has its series finally its going to happen on there(fuck a source just watch cnn for like 2 minutes)
  2. China prolly blocked some more shit on the internets(NO NEED FOR SOURCE THIS SHIT HAPPENS EVERYDAY)
  3. Citigroup posts big time loss somewhere around 8 billion and they plan on splitting into 2 different entities.  they havent promised this but im sure it would be in their best interests for both of them to be equally as shitty.
  4. Bank of america is losin some more and getting some aid getting some aid get get getting some aid
  5. Putin has kievs(ukraine) lips firmly wrapped around his cock with this whole gas thing, and now he says they are close to making a deal. i think massive load is going to come before the gas does but we shall see. somehow ukraine is supposed to come up with money hey say they dont have to pay. i know ukraine said this before and suddenly forked up money but something about this credit crunch tells me they really dont have it. there are...other ways to pay though ;] theres a growing number of umm smart people...that believe it isnt about the money but a case of the ol petrol politics from russia. using its resources to gain influence in its near abroad. they might be on to something especially with ukraine once desperately seekin to join the west and NATO
  6. Qatar joins Bolivia in the small list of countries cutting off ties to israel due to the conflict. i have no idea why anyone would have ties to qatar and bolivia anyways.
  7. There are accusations that the Thai military may have sent back boatloads of myanmar refugees back off to sea. god damn, that is so cold blooded. i can guarentee they rather die at sea than go back to myanmar. for those who dont know myanmar is a super shitty country ruled by the military and they make china look like the us as far as giving people access to information. theres also an aids epidemic on the way or there already may be one and the people dont even know it.
  8. India still wants its terror suspects and pakistan still not expected to give them shit. i have a sneaking suspicion that pakistan just doesnt give a fuck anymore
  9. Suprise suprise. ethiopia leave somalia and islamists take over again. haha somalia is absolutely jam packed with bad asses
  10. Red cross fears the fighting between the military and the tamil seperatist group tamil tigers(the originators of the suicide vest) is causing mass internal displacement. meaning people have to move from their home to someplace else cause of the fighting. that doesnt sound to bad but when you dont have a home, or you suddenly become a minority, AND your marginalized...it sucks.
  11. British foreign minister david millibrand is coming or came to pakistan to talk peace with india. in related news pakistan claims to have fucked up the lashkar e taiba group who happen to be responsible for the mumbai attacks
  12. Another rate cut from the european central bank. interest rate is now 2 percent
  13. MORE FUCKING NEGOTIATIONS IN ZIMBABWE. WILL ONE COUNTRY HAVE A FUCKING HEART AND JUST KILL ROBERT MUGABE? THIS IS DISGUSTING.
  14. Wall Street journal says Iran has been recieving high performance metals that could contribute to the creaion of long range missiles. they dont even have weapons grade uranium to put inside of these things if thats what it was really for. leave it to wsj(the fox news of papers) to push this shit though.

the moar shit key:

purple=middle east & africa
green=europe
left alone=NORTH AMERICA
BOLD=asia

will continue to add on to this list until some shit comes up and it deserves its own post. at that point i wont add to this addition of moar shit again and just wait til the next day? sounds good?

Stimulus and Israel

pro tip: if you are super duper lazy pay more attention to the bold

democrats do what they do best; welfare

ok and on to more shit

Israel is still blowing the shit out of Gaza. i was thinking about this last night and i would prefer and i think everyone would prefer that i try not to have any sort of lean with the news. at the same time it is a blog and its kind of the point of one to not shut about what i think, so what im going to do is warn prior to my opinion so it can be skipped over. so yea, this is your warning.

OPINION

i feel whats happening in gaza is fucked up, and israel is violating a couple big time laws in the process of their campain. i also know they will not be punished ever as long as the US oks it.  not everyone in israel is batshit insane though, youd think they are to be ok with some shit like this but the problem is the extreeeme zionists. the people that lie and cheat to make settlements on land that isnt theirs. its kind of like the bat shit crazy right wing christians here in america its just theyre a lot more powerful in israel. if ANY politician decided they wanted to run on a platform of pre 1967 borders and give palestine statehood they would never ever ever ever ever win an election. this is a political move. they can cripple hamas' ability to shoot rockets by the end of this but theyll be shooting again because theyre retards. the point of this for the kadima party(the current ruling party in the israeli parliament. headed by ehud olmert whos stepping down and tzipi livni whos stepping up in the election against the likuds partys benjamin netanyahu) to prove itself to the fucking selfish morons of israel they are willing to be just as vile and disgusting as netanyahu, their executioner of choice. israels parliamentary elections are on Feb 10th

the latest in this is a couple more peace accords are on the table and both parties are putting a bit more consideration in these. egypt and saudia arabia are nowhere to be found in the deal coming from hamas and a couple other palestinian organizations. prolly cause they hate hamas(love them some fatah tho). un secretary general ban ki moon says theyre close to a deal, but what does he know the un is only useful to the us when trying to systematically destroy countries like iran through sanctions ^__^

80-1?

sup, 80-1 refers to the book Around the World in 80 Days. Well, just the 80 part. the 1 refers to the service of going the around the world with the news in just 1 day. a days worth of world news for the day. im not an aspiring journalist or an english major so i wont even pretend. i just want to accomplish something real simple here:

summarize world news into a really lazy ass format for you. the key word here is lazy because i may be summarizing a news aricle or maybe an essay but when i put it on here it shouldnt be more than a page. ill be sure to post whatever interesting stats and figures that come along too so you can rattle them off in convo and be that dude.

so yea, happy reading
