holy shit its been forever March 3rd

i'll just hop right back into it, school got hectic and shit so um yea

israel and palestine are back at it with an exchange of fire

the assassination of guinea-bissaus former president joao bernardo vieira has not been ruled as a coup, its been linked to a conflict with the drug trade in west africa. for those who dont know, west africa is usually a stop along the way for coke heading to europe

times lied and said obama sent a letter to medvedev stating it would end its ballistic misile defense system in return for cooperation in halting irans nuclear program. medvedev denied it, once again the times is writing a bunch of bullshit, supriiiise

with no link cause im too lazy; hillary clinton took her first trip to israel as a member of the cabinet and hamas wasnt impressed at all and theyre expecting the same fucking policies. duh

venezuelas state run oil company petroleos de venezuela will try and cut 40% of production costs because the price of oil is shit and hugo is trying as hard as he can to save money for money on socialist programs

russias state gas company gazprom will now provide gas to another european nation, this one being spain. a "strategic partnership" between the two countries have always come to fruition and they should be meeting yearly to discuss issues that concern the both. i cant think of too many that do

Moar 1/27/09

ok, sorry for the extra day in the break. its time to get back to the daily grind. suprisingly nothing of note happened and we're still dealing with the same stories

  1. US ambassador of the middle east george mitchell is on his way to israel to try and work a deal with israel and hamas. this is it, our first taste of middle east diplomacy from obama. the only problem is its subcontracted to george mitchel who may be a very capeable negotiator but he has to report back to hillary clinton, not obama. i dont see much progress being made under clinton in this subject. shes very pro israeli, and more than likely not to waiver any concessions for hamas. it would take some level of intervention from obama to really get things going
  2. Sri Lankas safe zones obviously arent enough as the red cross reports a quarter of a million people trapped between the fighting between the sri lankan army and the tamil tigers
  3. SADC (southern african development community) a new government in zimbabwe will take place in february. ill believe it if it still stands in april
  4. Chinas prime minister wen jiabao will be going on a eurotrip to let europe know theyll be in chinas pocket soon enough
  5. Colombia and Venezuela has set up a 200m fund to increase bilateral trade. i guess things are pretty bad for cololmbia if they have to deal with a country they may be funding/aiding its biggest pain in the ass, FARC(revolutionary armed forces of colombia)
  6. Bolivia voted to change the constitution. Now evo morales can run again. i didnt think theyd pass it now im kind of wondering if hugos can get through in feb
  7. Iceland's government has officially fallen apart from the financial crisis. Looking forward(not happy about it, just saying its gonna happen) to seeing the same thing happen a couple former soviet states that the euro raped
i guess thats it for now. if youd like to see me get more detailed about a specific subject feel free to drop a line and ill oblige

Moar 9/21/09 (updated)

  1. Israel has completely withdrawn from gaza
  2. Guantanamo may close within a year, but for the moment all trials are on pause until obama and his administration takes a good look at whats going on
  3. Thailand refuses to let the UN check out the burmese refugees being held after the UN accused them of sending 1,000s back out at sea without adequate supplies. i hope thailand is building a secret pyramid with them or something.(provided that they are bein treated humanely)
  4. Tibetans plan to protest the chinese new year to honor those who died during a 2008 protest. i dont see china really giving a shit, they still have a couple billion people ready to celebrate. tibet will never be free without a war of some sort. sorry, but its the truth
  5. Hamid Karzai, afghanistans president says there needs to be a new military policy implemented for his country. he also called for all donations to be handled by afghanistan and not the donor themselves because its really hard to put in his and everyone elses pocket when it gos directly to the people
  6. France isnt sending anymore troops to afghanistan ;[ i hate how the french try to do things that make sense, ugh
  7. Sri Lankan army creates "safe zone" for the people displaced during the fighting with the tamil tigers
  8. Student protesters in venezuela protest chavez proposal to be able to run for re-election as often as he wants. when you think of student protest it doesnt seem noteworthy but they seem to have a pretty powerful effect in south american countries in the last year or so
